Changes to initial assessments 17th Dec 2025 In November 2025, the ADC changed the way in which we process applications for general dentists. We removed the ‘Registration and Skills assessment’ option from initial application sub-application type. We made this change to ensure we only collect information when (and if) we need it to process your application. The ’skills’ part of a registration and skills initial assessment is required when a candidate needs a visa for migration purposes. However, if you migrate to Australia over the course of your ADC journey, you may never need a skills assessment. Also, a skills assessment is only required for certain Australian visas. More information on visas can be found here. At the completion of the ADC assessment process, the ADC will contact you to check if you need a skills assessment, and if so provide information about what we require from you. Requests submitted within 12 months will be processed free of charge. The ‘skills only’ pathway has not changed. Previous Article Next Article
