DBA publishes consumer resource on compassionate release of super

The Dental Board of Australia has published a consumer-facing resource regarding compassionate release of superannuation (CRS) for dental treatment.
The resource aims to inform consumers of what they should do when considering CRS for dental treatment, what they can expect from dental practitioners,
and red flags to look out for.

Access the new Using your superannuation for dental treatment webpage here. The webpage includes links to:

  • A printable fact sheet
  • Easy English versions of the fact sheet, for consumers with low literacy.

This resource is part of a campaign which will include social media promotion and engagement with various consumer-facing organisations, including health insurers, superannuation providers, and community organisations.

This coincides with further joint media by Ahpra and the ATO regarding compassionate release of super. The ATO are also running a concurrent social media campaign targeting misleading advertising for superannuation and dental treatment.
