The Rumour File - Summer 2025

We’ve recently been made aware that candidates don’t want to contribute to the Rumour File, because you are worried that it will make it less likely for you to pass your examinations, or that ADC examiners will be upset with you. So, the one rumour this month is:

The ADC will not pass candidates who contribute rumours to the Rumour File in the Candidate Lounge newsletter.

This is untrue.

If the ADC asks for your help, and you give it, you will not be penalised.

When you send an email to the ADC, it goes to the Candidate Experience team. This team then answers your emails. At no point is the content of any of these emails shared with any of our examiners, or anyone who assesses any of our examinations. Examiners and assessors do not know who sends the ADC any emails, or what any of those emails contain.

The Rumour File is a space where you can ask us a question and we can tell you what is true and what isn’t, rather than being uncertain and worried.
