Veronica Vele

Veronica Vele is a senior executive with more than 20 years’ experience in health and professional education, specialising in high‑stakes assessment, quality assurance and large‑scale examination delivery. She is Deputy CEO / Executive Director, Assessments and Examinations at the Australian Dental Council (ADC), where she leads the development and delivery of assessment pathways for overseas‑trained dental practitioners seeking registration in Australia. Veronica has overseen multiple initiatives across assessments and examinations, strengthening operational delivery, modernising frameworks, enhancing candidate and examiner experience, and supporting culturally safe, evidence‑informed approaches to professional licensure.

Prior to joining the ADC in 2021, Veronica held senior roles at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Council for Educational Research, where she led national and international high‑stakes assessment programs across the medical and health professions. She brings deep expertise in competency‑based assessment, regulatory environments and international program delivery, with a strong commitment to fair, transparent and evidence‑based approaches to professional recognition.

Veronica is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and holds a Master of Technology from RMIT University, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne, and a Graduate Certificate in Management from the Australian Institute of Management. Originally from Italy, where she trained as a translator and interpreter, she has lived and studied in Germany and the United Kingdom, bringing an international perspective and an intercultural lens to assessment policy and global professional mobility.
