Philippa Davis

Director, Accreditation, Policy and Research

Philippa has extensive experience in medical education and throughout her career has worked across a variety of health disciplines including general practice, nursing, paramedicine and surgery before moving to the ADC in January 2022. She is committed to ensuring health-care workers have the capability, knowledge and skills to provide exceptional patient care through the development of health policy and governance, research, standards and education programs.

Philippa is passionate about improving health outcomes for people and spent a year in Nepal working for the Nepal Network for Cancer Treatment and Research implementing an education program on cancer prevention and early detection for health professionals.

Outside of work Philippa has a specialist interest in the languages spoken by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, particularly those in Victoria where they are no longer spoken and language researchers are largely reliant on the vocabularies and grammars written down by the early nineteenth century recorders. She completed her Honours thesis on an investigation into the writing structure and grammatical sentence structure of Wathawurrung, the language that was spoken in the Geelong-Ballarat region.

Philippa also has a Master of Business and was awarded a scholarship to complete a 12-month Advanced Leadership Program with Women in Leadership.
