Breaking boundaries: Education as an enabler of trust in healthcare

In May, several ADC team members attended the Australian Pharmacy Council’s IPE Colloquium.

The 2025 program explored how to prepare for a future shaped by expanded scopes of practice, misinformation, and the challenges of planetary health. It highlighted that building trust in healthcare starts with how we educate – by fostering collaboration across disciplines, creating safe spaces, and centering patients and communities.

Leaders at the colloquium signed an outcome statement committing to embedding interprofessional learning, amplifying student voices, educating future professionals to be trustworthy sources of knowledge, and fostering respectful collaboration that build trust across professions.

​Attendees heard from a fantastic group of local and international speakers and the day provided a great opportunity to meet with our counterparts from other authorities. The APC provided a wrap up of the day for those who missed it.
