Cultural safety in healthcare - the Healing Foundation 2nd Apr 2026 The Healing Foundation is an is Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led organisation that stands with Stolen Generations survivors — the many thousands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who, as babies and children, were removed from their loving families, communities, culture and Country under past government policies. They partner with Stolen Generations survivors, their descendants and organisations, and also work alongside governments, service providers and other stakeholders to respond to the Stolen Generations’ most urgent needs. These priorities — aligned with the recommendations of the Bringing them home report — call for prompt, coordinated action from governments and not-for-profit organisations. They include: Trauma-informed health and aged care services Access to records that preserve people’s stories and identity Fair and consistent redress for survivors in every state and territory Long-term funding for organisations delivering on-the-ground support, including records access, family tracing and reunions, and healing programs and services You can find their website and resources here.
