Meet the Accreditation team: Michele Gherlenda

Tell us a little about your role at the ADC?

My role as the Senior Accreditation Officer is to provide support to our accreditation teams and providers, to ensure the programs
offered to dental professionals are of a high standard to produce competent graduates and uphold the health and safety of the public.

How long have you worked at the ADC?

Since June 2024.

What does a typical day in your role involve?

A lot of administrative tasks – report writing, collaboration, facilitating meetings, note taking and general support.

What inspired you to join the team at the ADC?

I have been in the dental industry for over 20 years, and I wanted to work somewhere that had a meaningful impact
on patient safety from a different perspective.

What are you looking forward to in your current role?

Learning more about the providers and their programs and being able to attend site visits.

What is something about you that would surprise people?

I shouldn’t be trusted with taking care of plants.

What is one thing on your bucket list?

Renovating my newly purchased house.

What can’t you live without?

My phone.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?

Time travel because I would love to be able to experience events in the past or future.

What is the most unusual thing you have eaten?

Jellyfish and Sea Urchin. Not a fan.

What are you most grateful for?

My supportive husband and two beautiful children.
