Policy positions 4th Oct 2024 Unleashing the potential of our workforce – Scope of Practice Review update The ADC has continued its engagement with the Department of Health and Aged Care’s Scope of Practice Review, which explores the available evidence about benefits, risks, barriers and enablers to health practitioners working to their full scope of practice. The second of two issues papers for the review was released in April 2024, and presented a series of reform options designed to address the policy problems identified across three areas: workforce design, development and planning legislation and regulation funding and payment policy. The ADC provided feedback on the extent to which the proposed reforms could assist health professionals to work to their full scope of practice.Further consultation has occurred during recent months, with the final report due for submission to the Minister for Health and Aged Care by the end of October 2024. The ADC advocates for oral health professionals and improved public health across a range of dental sector issues.
