ADC International (ADCI) is a leading independent authority in accreditation and assessment of health programs worldwide, with a particular focus on oral health.
The initial assessment is the first stage, and determines your eligibility to sit the written examination by assessing your professional qualifications.

The third and final stage of the dental practitioner assessment process is the practical examination. It is for you to show that you are competent to practise safely as a dental practitioner in Australia.
The ADC works in close consultation with the Australian dental professions and wider community to develop the Professional competencies of the newly qualified dental practitioner (the Competencies).
The Competencies outline the knowledge, skills, behaviours, and attributes expected of dental practitioners upon graduation from an ADC accredited program.
This is also what we use to develop the assessments for overseas-qualified dental practitioners, to ensure overseas-qualified practitioners meet the same level of competency required of graduates of Australian accredited dental practitioner programs.

Registration:
This type of application involves your assessment of competence to be eligible for registration with the Dental Board of Australia / Ahpra, but does not include an assessment of your professional skills for migration and visa purposes. Once you have successfully completed the initial assessment, and both written and practical examinations, the ADC will contact you to confirm whether you require a skills assessment for migration purposes.
Skills assessment:
This type of application involves an assessment of your professional skills for migration purposes. This application should be selected when you require an assessment of your professional skills to obtain a visa to live and work in Australia AND are eligible to apply for registration with the Dental Board of Australia / Ahpra, without the need to complete the ADC process for overseas qualified dental practitioners. This applies if, for example, you have completed an Ahpra-approved qualification, but are not an Australian permanent resident or citizen.
