The Australian Dental Council (ADC) invites feedback from sector and community stakeholders to ensure the Accreditation Standards and the Professional competencies of the newly qualified dental practitioner remain aligned with contemporary practice in Australia. Through periodic consultations, the ADC seeks to uphold the relevance, rigour and responsiveness of its standards to reflect the evolving expectations of the profession and the public.
Consultation on the proposed changes to the Professional competencies of the newly qualified dental practitioner was completed in 2021.
Consultation on proposed changes to the ADC/Dental Council (New Zealand) Accreditation Standards for dental practitioner programs was recently completed, and new Standards launched in August 2026.
