ADC Assessor, Examiner and Item Writer Conference

The ADC is thrilled to be hosting another Assessor, Examiner and Item Writer Conference on 20-21 November 2026.

Attendees can expect valuable updates from regulatory leaders, insights into emerging trends in healthcare education and assessment, and opportunities to learn from colleagues across the profession.

Covering topics such as regulatory developments, assessment calibration, artificial intelligence, and communication in healthcare, the program brings together regulators and sector experts from both Australia and New Zealand to explore contemporary challenges and share effective assessment practices.

Indigenous Dental Association Australia (IDAA) National Conference & Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) National Conference

The ADC is pleased to support engagement with First Nations health professionals, students and communities, with four of our team members attending this year’s Indigenous Dental Association Australia (IDAA) National Conference and Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) National Conference in Boorloo/Perth this November.

These events provide valuable opportunities to strengthen relationships, share knowledge, and contribute to conversations focused on improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

First Peoples and Allies Reference Group: Meeting on Country

We were pleased to host the First Peoples and Allies Reference Group at the ADC office in Naarm/Melbourne on Friday 11 September 2026, for a full day of in-person sessions.

Joined by members of the ADC’s Examination Development team, the group explored approaches to developing questions that assess internationally qualified dental practitioners’ knowledge and application of culturally responsive care. The group then worked closely with the examination team to draft some sample questions informed by these discussions.

The day included a Weaving Workshop facilitated by Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung woman Kathryn Morris from Marbeangrook Designs. The workshop provided an opportunity for participants to connect, reflect and engage in a shared cultural experience. Kathryn generously shared her knowledge of traditional weaving techniques, helping to set the tone for a productive and meaningful day of collaboration.
